UK wide charity linking employers with schools to open up the world of work to young people.
We are looking for mentors who are working in a STEM related industry to support local students age 16-19 who are part of our Career Ready programme. All students are studying a Level 3 STEM qualification, however they are a little unsure of the careers such qualifications can lead to.
Career Ready mentors are trained between September 2016 – December 2016 (this is just one half day training session) and start mentoring their young person in January 2017. They meet once per month for 1-2 hours until December 2017. The content and direction of these sessions is pre-written for all mentors.
Mentoring is a great way to develop your own management skills whilst providing a fantastic opportunity for a young person to learn more about the world of work.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor for Career Ready in the next academic year please contact Sian Hiskey, Regional Manager (Cambridge and Peterborough) sian.hiskey@careerready.org.uk
