What's on offer

Through our degree apprenticeship you’ll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand engineering from the ground up; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.

The primary role of a software engineer is to be able to design, build and test high-quality software solutions. The role is broader and with higher levels of responsibility than a software developer as they need to apply engineering principles to all stages of the software development process, whilst ensuring security robustness is built in.

As a software apprentice you will be studying towards a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions, following the Software Engineering Pathway. For the duration of this 4 year programme you will be given one day per week in which to complete your degree studies. For the other 4 days you will be working in the business, applying your university learning and gaining a breadth of experience across the engineering function.

You will attend Anglia Ruskin University for 3 block weeks over the course of each year, with additional tuition provided through online delivery. At the end of the apprenticeship you be working as a software engineer within the Thales UK businesses.

This opportunity is within the Thales e-security business in Cambridge.
